Phil
Petroska is a full-time, independent home inspector who has performed hundreds of home
inspections since 2001 for his real estate clients as well as major insurance companies such as Metropolitan Property and
Casualty, Chubb, OneBeacon Insurance Group, State Farm, National Grange, Amica, Peerless and many
others.
Phil is a certified home
inspector recognized by the International
Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), a member of the Maine
Coalition of Home Inspection Professionals (MeCHIPs) and a licensed Home Inspector in New Hampshire. In
addition, he has been certified by the American Home Inspectors Training
Institute (AHIT) and has successfully passed the National
Home Inspector Examination, which is recognized and required for
licensing by the 17 states currently requiring licensing (including
New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island; Maine currently has
no licensing requirements).
Phil is a Certified Onsite Subsurface Wastewater Disposal
System Inspector, certified by the Maine Department of Health & Human
Services. In addition, Phil
is certified to inspect log homes and is an ITC Certified Infrared Thermographer.
In
2007, North Country Home Inspections became a member of the Better
Business Bureau serving eastern Mass., Maine and Vermont and has an A+ rating. Our Member
Reliability Report is available online. Also in 2007, we
became a member of the Greater
Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.
In 2010, the company expanded it's services to include energy audits and
Infrared building analysis. The name of the company became "North Country Property Services, LLC".
Since
1984, Phil has been privately and professionally renovating homes. His most extensive renovation was a colonial home built in 1762.

Phil and his wife, Ann,
are
currently renovating their 100+ year old home on the shores of Long Lake in
Harrison, Maine. They hope to restore it to it's
former entity as a Bed & Breakfast (it was really a boarding house, but a
B&B sounds better!).
